Photo Gallery - Vertical Layout

About Layouts    Horizontal    Vertical    Montage   Slide Show

The Vertical layout creates thumbnails, laid out in columns and a title and description are placed alongside.

This link will open a new window showing image of the vertical gallery layout.

When inserting the gallery, at the bottom is a box, saying to choose how many thumbnails going across the page (up to 10). Take into account that the text is alongside each thumbnail, so more space is required across each column as with, say, the horizontal layout.

Basic customisation is quite straightforward. However if you want to alter the layout quite a bit, then it is not worth the effort. You would be better off letting Front Page create the gallery and thumbnails, then remaking the page into your own table layout - this can be achieved by following the customisation section.

The vertical layout was used for the Computer Gallery - this is exactly how Front Page created it, with no customisation. The Animals Gallery also uses this layout, but has been customised.
