Correct way to
open & close your Web |
Closings your web
We now have a one page web. You need to get into the habit of
closing your web correctly. When your web is published, each time
you access your live web you will have to login with user name
and password. When you have finished with your live web,
rather than just clicking on the x at top right of Front
Page, you want to tell FrontPage that you want to close the web
first, then exit Front Page. Get into the habit of this right
from the start, by doing it with your hard drive copy.
So, close the web you have just created by
clicking on File/Close Web
Then click on File/Exit
... you will notice that the Close Web has now greyed out ....
showing it cannot be used as there isn't a web open any more, to
close.
Opening your web
Okay, to open your web, you open it with Front Page ... you
do not browse to your web folder, then open the page. Front Page
needs to open the whole web for you to work on a page.
Click on File/Open Web
If your web does not show in the dialog box that
follows, browse to it then click on the Open button
